PDP CARITAS

Multilingual access and community orientation

Audience, role and possible services

We propose multilingual information pathways for people who encounter language barriers when approaching institutions or learning opportunities. Our role would be to make public information understandable and help route requests to the appropriate responsible contact.

Possible outputs

Possible activities include equivalent-language guides, shared glossaries, readability and accessibility reviews, orientation sessions and consent-based referrals. Outputs may include translated guidance, a version record and a clear contact map.

Conditions for activity

Each language edition must preserve the same meaning, examples and conditions. Certified translation and regulated legal or medical advice require qualified providers. This proposed capability does not announce operating language offices, appointments or an office merger; those organizational decisions remain separate.

Illustrative pathway

Illustrative pathway: an approved public notice could be translated into equivalent Persian and Arabic versions, checked for plain language and linked to the correct authority or learning provider. PDP could maintain the version record and contact map. Certified translation, immigration advice and medical decisions would remain outside this pathway.
