PDP CARITAS

Volunteering and responsible participation

Audience, role and possible services

We propose a framework for people to contribute time and skills to defined educational or community activities. Possible roles include supervised translation support, event assistance and preparation of learning resources.

Possible outputs

Each role would have a description, time commitment, induction, named supervisor and route for feedback or withdrawal. Participation and agreed expenses could be recorded without presenting the record as a professional qualification.

Conditions for activity

Before recruitment, we must approve the programme and examine the applicable volunteering framework, employment boundary, safety measures and insurance where relevant. Work with children or specialist risks requires additional safeguards and competence. This is a proposed framework; no existing volunteer network, employment, visa or qualification is promised.

Illustrative pathway

Illustrative pathway: a supervised translation-support role could have a written task, time limit, induction, named supervisor and withdrawal route. PDP could record participation and agreed expenses after programme approval. The role would not replace paid specialist work, qualify a volunteer professionally or create a visa entitlement.
